This image, Amanda_Moore_Vogue_Italia_Mar2006.jpg, is being linked to in the Wikipedia article "Amanda Moore." Though the picture is subject to copyright, I (Nschloes) feel it is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:
- According to the Wikipedia fair use policy, although it is not generally acceptable to use an image of a magazine cover solely to illustrate the article on the person whose photograph is on the cover, "if that magazine issue itself is notable enough to be a topic within the article, then fair use may apply."
- In this particular case I believe fair use does apply, since this particular magazine cover (1) marked a notable turn in Moore's career (a comeback after a long absence, which was noted by commentators in the fashion and modeling industries) and (2) was accompanied by a feature editorial of unusual length. Both of these points are relevant enough to be topics in the article about Moore.
