Americans for UNFPA
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The U. S. Committee for UN Population Fund was formed in 1998 to raise moral, political and financial support in the United States for the work of the UN Population Fund (UNFPA), which provides voluntary family planning and reproductive health services, ensures safe motherhood, prevents HIV/AIDS and other STDs, assists in humanitarian crisis situations, and offers other critical life-saving support to women, men and children in over 140 developing countries. U.S. Committee for UNFPA often works in concert with the grassroots organization 34 Million Friends of UNFPA.
In 2005, U.S. Committee for UNFPA was renamed to Americans for UNFPA.
