Ammadam

Ammadam (Ammayude Idam or Aa madom, literally meaning 'the place of mother'), is a picturesque village in the Thrissur district, Kerala where traditional Christians and Hindus reside in an unimaginable peace in the communally turbulent India. Ammadam is about 8 km away from Thrissur town. Its filled with scenic beauty. For a long time the main occupation of the people were agriculture. The area is under the Parlam Panchayat. The paddy fields of the place are called 'kol'. And these fields are below sea level. Its separated from the sea by a small dam in Enamavu, called 'Enamavu Bandu'
