The Ancient Warriors are a fictional group from the Digimon anime series Digimon Frontier. These Ancient Warriors where the original Legendary Warriors of the Digital World, and are the group who originally defeated Lucemon prior to the events of Digimon Frontier.

The Ancient Warriors do not actually appear in Digimon Frontier. However, they are mentioned several times in the series as a group of legendary digimon who lived in the Digital World a long time before the events of Digimon Frontier.
The Digital World of Digimon Frontier once had a war between human-form Digimon and beast-form Digimon some time in its past. The war ended when the Angel Digimon Lucemon bought peace between the two groups. However, Lucemon soon became corrupted and ruled with an iron fist over the Digital World. During this time, 10 digimon appeared and fought Lucemon, sealing him away in the center of the Digital World known as the "Dark Area". These were the 10 "Ancient Warriors".
The act of sealing away Lucemon cost these digimon their lives. However, before dying, the 10 used their own data to create a set of Spirits that can be used by Legendary Warriors of the future. The Spirits were placed into the care of the three Celestial Angels - Wind and Light with Seraphimon; Fire, Ice and Thunder with Ophanimon; Earth, Wood, Water, Steel and Darkness with Cherubimon.
These Spirits are used and play an important role in the Digimon Frontier storyline.
[edit] Island of the Lost Digimon
Island of Lost Digimon is the 7th Digimon movie. In this movie, it is revealed that AncientGreymon and AncientGarurumon once fought against another evil Digimon named Onismon and sealed it away on a traveling island. When Onismon was re-awakened by Murmuxmon, the two ancient Warriors appeared once again to destroy Onismon, this time for good.

There is a total of 10 Ancient Warriors, each representing one of the 10 elements of the Digital World. These digimon are distinguished by the word "Ancient" in their name.

AncientBeetlemon is the Ancient Warrior representing the element of thunder. AncientBeetlemon's power over Thunder now lives on in J.P., who wields the Spirits of Thunder he created. AncientBeetlemon's body combines elements from the Kuwagamon and Beetlemon digivolution lines.
Attacks
- Terra Blaster: Fires a beam of destructive energy.
- Calamity Thunder: Creates a thunder storm that fires randomly in a small area.

AncientGarurumon is the Ancient Warrior representing the element of light. In addition to fighting Lucemon, he and AncientGreymon also fought the evil digimon Onismon. AncientGarurumon's power over Light now lives on in Koji, who wields the Spirits of Light he created.
Attacks
- Absolute Zero: Fires a blue ball from his mouth that freezes his enemy.
- Sharpness Claymore: He rushes at the enemy, raising his swords in the air and then crashing them down in two diagonal parallel slashes.

AncientGreymon is the Ancient Warrior representing the element of fire. In addition to fighting Lucemon, he and AncientGarurumon also fought the evil digimon Onismon. AncientGreymon's power over fire now lives on in Takuya, who wields the Spirits of Fire he created.
Attacks
- Omega Corona: (Omega Burst) AncientGreymon releases a huge burst of flaming energy from his armor
- Gaia Tornado: AncientGreymon releases a powerful fire blast from his mouth

AncientKazemon is the Ancient Warrior representing the element of Wind. The power AncientKazemon possessed now lives on in Zoe, who wields the Spirits of Wind she created. Her human spirit is Kazemon and beast spirit is Zephyrmon
Attacks
- Wind Gazer: Manipulates the skies to create a destructive storm.
- Rainbow Symphony: AncientKazemon uses her rapier to blasts a rainbow coloured beam.

AncientMegatheriumon is the Ancient Warrior representing the element of ice. The power AncientMegatheriumon possessed now lives on in Tommy, who wields the Spirits of Ice he created.
Attacks
- Great Snow Blow: AncientMegatheriumon attacks his enemies using his hard fur.
- Freezing Blizzard: AncientMegatheriumon creates a snowstorm that can completely freeze anything.

AncientMermaimon is the Ancient Warrior representing the element of water. The power AncientMermaimon possessed lives on in the form of Ranamon through the Spirits of Water she created. AncientMermaimon wields a golden three-point trident and can manipulate the waters of the Net Ocean.
Attacks
- Great Maelstrom: The body of water closest to her becomes a raging tsunami at her control.
- Crystal Billow: AncientMermaimon summons shimmering crystalline structures that erupt from beneath her enemies.
- Ocean Waves: Manipulates the tides of the net ocean, create destructive waves.

AncientSphinxmon is the Ancient Warrior representing the element of darkness. The power AncientSphinxmon possessed now lives on in Kouichi, who wields the Spirits of Darkness he created.
Attacks
- Necro Eclipse: AncientSphinxmon fires beams from his ruby-eyes
- Dark Blast: AncientSphinxmon rears up on his hind legs and crashes down, gathering dark energy in his mouth which is released as an orb towards the enemy.

AncientTroiamon is the Ancient Warrior representing the element of wood. The power AncientTroiamon possessed lives on in the form of Arbormon through the Spirits of Wood he created. His name comes from "Trojan", and his design is based off the Trojan Horse.
Attacks
- Surprise Cannon: AncientTroiamon leaps into the air and fires all of his cannons at once.
- Epeus Gimmick: AncientTroiamon disassembles and releases a green energy which is launched at the enemy, causing mass destruction.

AncientVolcamon is the Ancient Warrior representing the element of earth. The power AncientVolcamon possessed lives on in the form of Grumblemon through the Spirits of Earth he created.
Attacks
- Atomic Bomber: The volcano on AncientVolcamon's back erupts as he tackles his enemy.
- Supernova: AncientVolcamon creates a huge explosion from the volcano on his back.

AncientWisemon is the Ancient Warrior representing the element of steel. The power AncientWisemon possessed lives on in the form of Mercurymon through the Spirits of Steel he created.
Attacks
- Laplace's Demon: AncientWisemon is able to rewrite the past and future by accessing the Akashic Records.
- Elder Sign: Allows AncientWisemon to temporarily borrow a god's power and use it as his own.
- Metallic Alloy: AncientWisemon creates steel alloy out of thin air, allowing him to manipulate it as he pleases.
- Enchanted Metal: AncientWisemon can manipulate nearby objects with any metal in them.
