Andrew Barrowman (born 27 November 1984 in Wishaw, North Lanarkshire) is a Scottish football player. A forward, he is contracted to Scottish club Queen of the South.
[edit] Playing career
He signed his first senior contract at Birmingham for the start of the 2003-04 season, but played his debut match as a Crewe Alexandra player during a month-long loan spell between October and November, 2003, in a match against Bradford City on October 14. He hit his first goal in his next match, a 3-0 victory against Derby County on October 18.
Between November and the close of the season, he played one more game, at home against Leicester City. In the summer of 2004, he was handed a new contract for his original club, Birmingham.
Loaned to Blackpool for the first three months of 2004-05. Barrowman made his debut as a Blackpool player against Sheffield Wednesday, coming on as a substitute in a 2-1 home loss. He stunned then-manager Colin Hendry by walking out after another substitute appearance.
Barrowman would prove never to become a regular squad member at St. Andrews. In January 2006 he signed for Walsall. He made his debut in a 5-0 defeat to Brentford, which proved to be the final act of manager Paul Merson's spell as manager. Barrowman gave away a penalty in this game with a bizarre handball with the score at 4-0. However, Barrowman's fortunes improved the week after when he helped to rescue a point on his home debut. With Walsall down to ten men, Barrowman latched onto a long ball and floated a lovely lob over the advancing goalkeeper to make it 2-2.
On 26 July 2006, Barrowman signed a one-year contract with Scottish Premier League club Kilmarnock, but after initially failing to break into the first team he joined Queen of the South on a month's loan during September.[1] This loan deal was subsequently extended until the end of December. The deal was then made permanent on the 1 February 2007, after his release from Rugby Park.
