Andy Chapman

Andrew "Andy" Chapman is an English-born former star American indoor soccer player.
An Arsenal F.C. signee at age 17, Chapman went to the United States in 1980 to play outdoors for the California Sunshine of the American Soccer League. He then played five seasons with the Detroit Express. Chapman then began his indoor career. He played for MISL teams the Wichita Wings, Baltimore Blast, and Cleveland Force.
Chapman finished with 307 MISL goals, a tally which ranks 8th all time. His best season was 1983-84 when he finished second in goal scoring, seventh in league overall scoring and was named to the league's All-MISL team.
Chapman became player-coach of the National Professional Soccer League's Detroit Rockers and remained so for four seasons. He then signed with the Detroit Neon of the Continental Indoor Soccer League.
Involved in youth coaching since 1978, Chapman is now Director of Coaching with Birmingham United Football Club, a youth soccer club in Birmingham, Michigan.
