[edit] Playing Career
In April 1990, Gouck started his career as a trainee at Blackpool. He played 121 League games in which he scored 22 goals, and played 4 FA Cup games. In July 1996, he moved to Rochdale. During two seasons at Rochdale, he played 33 games and scored 9 goals. After two successful seasons, he moved to Southport. Gouck spent 3 seasons at Southport, playing 56 League matches and scoring only 1 goal. He then moved to Morecombe, where he scored 11 goals in 132 appearances. He produced some excellent performances in the centre of midfield, however supporters began to question his fitness after some ad performanes. He remained unpopular with the supporters and after a loan spell with Accrington Stanley, he signed permanently in January 2003. He spent a couple of seasons with Stanley, but then left after the club turned full-time. During his time with Stanley, he scored 6 league goals in 20 matches and 1 goal in 4 FA Cup matches. That 1 goal was a brilliant long-range strike against Huddersfield, who were at the time 2 divisions above them. They won 1-0 and managed to reach the 3rd round proper until Colchester beat them in a controversial replay match.
Gouck played much of his football career part-time, and worked as a social worker.
