Anglesey Airport (Maes Awyr Mon or RAF Valley) (IATA: N/A, ICAO: EGOV) is an airport owned Royal Air Force (RAF). The airport is situated on the island of Anglesey, Wales. It currently the airport is only used as an RAF station to teach future RAF pilots using BAE Hawks. The plans put forward early 2006 suggested the airport will offer two flights a day to Cardiff International Airport, in the Welsh capital, the plans were put forward by the National Assembly for Wales in hope of increasing the econonomy of Anglesey and North Wales in general. The plans where given the go ahead mid/late 2006, with flights due to commence early in 2007
Currently the only way of people traveling to the Cardiff are by train and by road transport which is often a struggle and very time comsuming, the new air service will cut this time to around 40-45 minutes.
At the beginning the airport will only offer two flights per day to Cardiff, but with the option to go up to 10 flights a day, with Dublin, Ireland already being discused.
The new terminal being designed by MAP architects and is worth £1,000,000 and the building contract has been given to the construction company Yorkon. The building will be built off site and brought to the airport when finished. The new terminal will be a single storey building consiting of a check-in desk, departures lounge and baggage handling areas as well as other vistitor information areas.

Once the airport has opened, flights will be around £50 single fare with the option of daily returns, the airport will operate Monday - Friday. Flights will be operated by Highland Airways using BAe Jetstream aircraft.
