If you're familiar with the French language, then you've probably already guessed at one of my main interests. "L'angleterre" means "England" in French, and I think it's an interesting paradox to have my username as the name of the country I love in the language of their longstanding rival.

I believe that for the most part life is a paradox. The history of England itself can be a semi- (albeit unconventional) example of this: 1066 is considered by most to be the beginning of present-day English history. William of Normandy, the duke of a region in northern France, led the last successful conquest of the English land in this year. William the Conqueror wasn't the first English king, but he is considered to be one of the most influential figures in England's past. And he was of Normandy, a French area that was itself invaded by Danes before it developed into a land of Norsemen.

I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. I'm a relatively new wiki user, so I'm not nearly close to any wiki milestones yet like my 1000th edit. I'm slowly but surely getting there, though!
