Anil Pedgaonkar teaches Mathematics at the Institute of science, Mumbai-India and computing at sydenham college, mumbai. he has written a survey dissertation on Matroid theory. he has published a text book on computer programming. He has introduced the concept of quasiindependence space, a unification of the concepts of matroid and polymatroid. He has further generalized this notion to greedy space which is a continuous analogue of the notion of greedoid. He has also speeled the generalization of small span theorem in real analysis and given a proof of the fact that winding number is an integer by giving an algorithmic proof not using the geometric notion of the argument and the notion of exponential function both.
