Antônio de Sousa Neto

General Antônio de Sousa Neto, (Rio Grande, February 11, 1801 — Corrientes, July 2, 1866), was a Tatter Revolucionary leader. On September 20, 1836, Netto declared the independence of the Piratini Republic.
He was a famous abolitionist and fought for the release of the slaves who had fought during the revolution.
