Antim I

Antim I (Bulgarian: Ðнтим I) (1816 - 1 December 1888), born Atanas Mihaylov Chalukov (Bulgarian: AÑ‚Ð°Ð½Ð°Ñ ÐœÐ¸Ñ…Ð°Ð¹Ð»Ð¾Ð² Чалуков), was a Bulgarian education figure and a clergyman, participant in the Bulgarian liberation and church-independence movement.
Antim I was born in Lozengrad and later studied in the Halki seminary and in Odessa. He graduated from the Moscow Theological Academy and Seminary in 1856.
