[edit] Controversy
It appears that there is controversy surrounding the subject of the article. Per WP:BLP, I've removed some opinionated POV comments from the page, apparently from three different posters:
- THIS MAN IS DANGEROUS, HE BREAKS UP FAMILIES AND RUINS LIFES. THIS MAN NEEDS TO BE BROUGHT TO BOOK FOR HIS ACTIONS. PEOPLE OF THE PHILIPPINE PLEASE LISTEN TO WHAT I AM SAYING. THIS MAN IS PURE EVIL. GET OUT NOW WHILE YOU CAN.
- Pastor Apollo constantly claims on his programs that he is the Son of God. Although this claim has been made before, the only legitimate claim was that made by Jesus Christ, the real Son of God.
- Pastor Apollo C Quiboloy lives like a king from all the hard-working followers who believe this man is the son of god. he pays his brainwashed followers a pittance while most of them live hand-to-month. This charlatan as taken advantage of the poor Filipino who believes this man can give them a future. My wife is Filipino and lives in Manila. One day, all her family left her to go and join this cult. she is now on her own with no support or contact. this is because phones are not permitted in the Kingdom. This man needs to be removed from his position before he causes anymore family break-ups.
Opinions aside, if anybody has material from WP:RS reliable sources that document as fact any of these accusations or that document the views as a significant view (per WP:NPOV), please re-add the material with a citation and the appropriate NPOV tone. [edit] Notability
Since somebody tried to speedy this, apparently the notability isn't obvious. The fellow's a TV evangelist who is carried nationally in the Phillipines and internationally via satellite. The Google test is best applied to first-world topics that appeal to the Internet set. For more info on the fellow, search his local paper and you'll find a number of articles. - That was me. I'll grant that
-
- 38 of about 45 from www.sunstar.com.ph for Apollo quiboloy with Safesearch on
- from a (critical) local news outlet in a city of >1M people, is more significant than the G-test
- 230 of about 316 for Quiboloy
- that i cited in my ProD nom, but i doubt that the burden of proof of verifiable notability has been met. I'm not inclined at the moment to lead the charge on AfD, even tho i'll weigh again & vote on AfD, if i'm notified when someone nom's him.

- For what it's worth, I've visited the Philippines the last several summers, and the guy is definitely a household name there. He is very notable from a Filipino perspective. CaliforniaKid 07:28, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
