Arcola Elementary School was a public school in Aldie, Virginia, but is planned to reopen in the 2007-2008 school year. Arcola was part of Loudoun County Public Schools, located in the old town area of Arcola. The school was one of LCPS's oldest facilites, serving students in the area, but also as far away as the Ashburn in the Ashburn Farm subdivision which is now served by Sanders Corner Elementary School. Its enrollment was usually within 300 students throughout its history, but frequent boundary changes in its attendance zone, along with the school's small capacity made it unfit for a developing region where the school was located and Arcola closed its doors for the last time in June 2005. Students were moved to other elementary schools in the area, mostly to nearby Pinebrook Elementary School in Aldie.
In 2006, a new elementary school was planned for the eastern Aldie area, relatively close to Arcola's original location. The new school is expected to hold a capacity of about 800-875 students and was named Arcola. The school is expected to open in the 2007-2008 school year.
