- Dependence on crude oil from the Middle East - for reasons of geopolitical stability, economic and environmental sustainability, alternative energy sourcing, and technological development, Fractional reserve banking and floating currency exchange rate from attachment to a natural resource like gold and other things like land, agriculture, mining, oil production.
