Ardjish, (Armenian: Artzike) is an old town in Turkey near Lake Van (in the Middle Ages known as Ardjish Lake). It was fortified in the early 14th century by the Vizir Ilkhanid Ali Shah. Depopulated in the 18th century (due to the growing of the Van Lake waters), it was fully abandoned by the middle of the 19th century. This town was transported to 5 km. away from Lake Van. She is named as Erçiş as a district of Van Province.
