Arnoldscope
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Arnoldscope was an experimental 35 mm motion picture film format developed by John Arnold, working in the MGM camera department in the 1950s. The format used normal 35 mm motion picture film, running horizontally, exposing 10 perferations worth of film per frame. The system used normal spherical lenses, avoiding distortion that was introduced by anamorphic lenses of the era.
