Arsenio Advincula

Arsenio J. Advincula is a martial arts instructor, born on January 25, 1938 in Juneau, Alaska.
In May 1997 the Marine Corps adopted Advincula's rifle & bayonet/knife and close combat system. He studied Isshin-ryu with the style's founder Tatsuo Shimabuku starting in 1958.
He was a former coach for the San Diego Chargers, where he taught body mechanics based on his martial arts experiences to the team starting in 1987 and continuing on for 7 years. The San Diego Chargers went from a 4-12 record in 1986 to 8-7 in 1987.
