Ashingdon is a village and civil parish in Essex, England. It is located about 4 km (2 miles) north-northwest of Rochford and is 21 km (13 miles) southeast from the county town of Chelmsford. The village is in the district of Rochford district and the parliamentary constituency of Rayleigh. There is a Parish Council.[1]
According to the 2001 census the parish had a population of 3,165.[citation needed]
It was the site of the Battle of Ashingdon.
