[edit] Cleanup request
The article needs to be overhauled. I've tried to tidy up and clarify the English, but I think that it needs someone with more knowledge of the topic to take it in hand. There are places where the ordinary reader gets very confused about the political and historical background to the events described. Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 17:16, 14 Feb 2005 (UTC)
The correct name of the general, who was my elder brother, is Asif Nawaz. President Ghulam Ishaq is credited as having identified him as Asif Nawaz Janjua in public statements and hence our tribal name Janjua was attached to his name in some newspaper accounts. There is no Khan in his name. The issue of his demise is indeed controversial and I hope to shed more light on it in due course, when I complete my book on the Pakistan Army. For a useful but brief biographical sketch readers are referred to Shahid Javed Burki's excellent Historical Dictionary of Pakistan (Scarecrow Press, 1999). Shuja Nawaz 15 July 2005

The photo of the General needs to have proper copyright tags. Thanks. --Ragib 05:36, 8 August 2005 (UTC) This photo was taken by a photographer hired by the Inter Services Public Relations Directorate of the Pakistan Army at Army House, Rawalpindi on August 17, 1991. So it could be credited to ISPR Directorate, Pakistan Army. Shuja Nawaz
