Astana Metro
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Astana Metro is a planned (under construction references needed) construction located in Astana, Kazakhstan, which is the capital of the country with a population of about 600.000. The metro will be finished roughly about the same time as the Almaty Metro will be, which is estimated at 2010. When one travels to these two cities of Kazakhstan, one can see signs and buildings with commisions and offices labeled by Almaty Metro or Astana Metro.
This is also part of Nazerbaev's Kazakhstan 2030 economic plan to make Kazakhstan a powerful economic land and country. Astana has been undergoing much construction since the capital change after the fall of the former Soviet Union.
Currently, there is currently no operating metro system in the whole country.
