Auffinger Cup

The Auffinger Cup of Alpine Ski Racing is an international award that goes to the fastest Auffinger Alpine Skier. It is currently held by Sean Auffinger of North Carolina, USA.

The Auffinger Cup was cast during the Great age of Austria by the leaders of the Auffinger Tribal Council to be awarded to the fastest Auffinger Alpine Skier.
[edit] Scoring System
To award the Cup, NASTAR race results are used. The Cup can only change hands when the challenger races the same course againt the current champion and those results are certified. There is only one Cup for all Auffingers, meaning that it can span gender and age groups. To ensure the scoring is fair, NASTAR handicaps do not have to be bested evenly for the challenger to claim the Cup. Platinum medal handicap cutoffs are used to determine the differences. For example, if a girl age 11-12 wishes to take the cup from her father, age 45-49, she could lose to him by 11 handicap points and still claim the Cup.
