Why was the image here deleted without anyone bothering to ask User:Mackensen where he got it from? I understand that images should be sourced to begin with, but it seems to me that, by default, we should at least make an attempt to see if we can keep an image before we delete it. It seems massively unlikely that anyone is going to sue us because we keep an image of a World War I general on for the few days it takes to see if it will be confirmed. john k 22:19, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
- The image crowd do seem militant at times (sigh). It's no matter. I've got some public-domain postcards I can scan; they're better quality anyway. Mackensen (talk) 22:43, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

The article doesn't mention when he was ennobled. Prior to the war? When he received his Blue Max? When he received the Black Eagle and his field marshalcy? Binabik80 17:06, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
