The Australian 1 cent coin was the lowest-valued Australian circulation coin until it was withdrawn from circulation in 1992.
The 1 cent coins were then melted down to make bronze medals for the 2000 Summer Olympics.
The reverse side of the 1 cent coin featured the image of a Feathertail Glider.
