Austriadactylus cristatus Dalla Vecchia, Wild, Hope & Reitner, 2002 |
Austriadactylus was an unusual rhamphorhynchoid pterosaur. The fossil remains, consisting of skull, lower jaw, some vertebrae, parts of the limbs and pelvic girdle, and the tail, were unearthed in Austria.
This species had a crest on its head that widened as it descended towards the snout. Its flexible tail did not have the stiffening rods present in the rest of its family.
