Avie Records

Avie Records is an independent classical music recording company founded in 2002 by Simon Foster and Melanne Mueller.
Many major classical music recording artists like Trevor Pinnock, conductors Michael Tilson Thomas, Semyon Bychkov and early music viol ensemble Phantasm record for Avie, which has released more than 100 CDs since 2002.
Avie's recording of Mozart's Complete Violin Concertos, by Shlomo Mintz and Hagai Shaham with the English Chamber Orchestra was featured in 'A Hundred Outstanding Recordings' in the 'Penguin Guide To Compact Discs & DVDs 2005/6 Edition[1].
The label's business model is based on operating the label (see record label) for and on behalf of musicians who retain ownership of their recordings. It also acts as an umbrella for a number of musical organizations and individual artists.
