Talk:Avraham Sinai
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This person is non-notable. Google returns 33 unique results, many of which link to Wikipedia or mirrors of Wikipedia. [2]. BhaiSaab talk 05:41, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
- Even if google were the way to decided whether a person is notable or not, he gets some hits not from wikipedia in the first ten. He's probably a minor celebrity in Israel anyway, and he's an author. Speedy delete? Come on. Arrow740 07:43, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
- Why does the name of his book only return two results? Perhaps we could evaluate this better if we had Hebrew or Arabic equivalents, but he seems to be on neither of the Wikipedias in those languages. BhaiSaab talk 07:54, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
- Did you check both? Most people don't both contributing in their mother tongue if it's not english, it seems to me. So I don't know if that's a good measure either. This guy is something of a public figure, it seems. He definitely meets wikipedia standards for having an article if someone wants him to. Arrow740 09:45, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
- If he was notable he would be on the Hebrew Wikipedia - he's not. BhaiSaab talk 00:51, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
- I disagree. I see no evidence that Hebrew wikipedia has many contributors. In any case the material presented about him makes it clear that, at least to some degree, he is notable. Arrow740 07:02, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
- Hebrew Wikipedia is much smaller. Sinai is a notable person, I have heard about him before. He has been the subject of articles in Israeli papers. I do not understand BhaiSaab's deletion fervor. BhaiSaab, stop this. --Daniel575 | (talk) 09:31, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
