Axel Aabrink, Danish painter (1887-1965)
Educated at the Technical school and at the school of Zahrtmann. Private pupil of H. Gronvold. Aabrink was a close friend of the artist Oluf Rude and was influenced by the works of Albert Gottschalk throughout his carrier. During the 1920's, Aabrink lived around Hobro in Jutland. Aabrink was shy and reclusive, spending most of his life painting landscapes and forest scenes from around the areas he lived in. Besides painting, Aabrink was also a successful carpenter and did many pieces of fine furnitures for the Nord Company.
