Ayumi

Ayumi is a female Japanese given name. The kanji of Ayumi (歩- Ayu.mu) comes from the Chinese word (步- Ayu.mu); they're similar but not the same. Ayumi is most commonly written as:
- あゆみ — in hiragana, the most common way.
- あゆ美 — mixture of hiragana and kanji; this is rarely used, but nowadays you can see this form increasing.
- 歩 — literally means step or walk, but for names is understood as walker. Most parents that give their child this name wants a child that is independent, that can walk on her own.
- 歩美 — "歩" means walker and "美": beauty.
- 歩実 - "歩" means walker and "実": reality.
- 歩弓 - "歩" means walker and "弓": archery.
- 安祐美 - "安" means relax, "祐" means help and "美": beauty.
