'Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri, also known as Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri or B.C. Khanduri Maj Gen.( Retd.), (born 1 October 1934) is a member of the 14th Lok Sabha of India. He represents the Garhwal constituency of Uttarakhand and is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) political party. He is the current chief minister of Uttarakhand since March 8, 2007. He is a former minister in Indian federal government.
Born in 1934 in Dehradun in Uttarakhand he studied at Allahabad University, College of Military Engineering, Pune , Institute of Engineers, New Delhi and Institute of Defence Management, Secunderabad.
He served in Corps of Engineers, Indian Army from 1954 to 1990. In 1982 he was conferred Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) by the President of India for distinguished services in the Indian Army.
After retirement he joined politics and was elected to Lok Sabha from Garhwal in Uttarakhand in 1991 and in subsequent elections.
He was the minister of state (with independent charge) of the Road, Transport and Highways Ministry from 2000 to 2003 in the government headed by Atal Bihari Vajpayee .He was elevated to cabinet rank in 2003, and held the post until the NDA government lost power in May 2004. He is a senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party. As a minister, he implemented BJP's prestigious National Highways Development project with efficiency and speed.

In February 2007, he led the BJP to victory in assembly elections in Uttarakhand and was subsequently chosen to be the new Chief Minister of the state. He will need to resign from his Lok Sabha seat and successfully contest to the Vidhan Sabha in the next six months. It is expected that he will take advantage of the delayed election to the final constituency in the state, Bajpur, which will be held on March 25th and is considered a safe BJP seat.
