[edit] Summary
Track layout at Bankstown railway station, Sydney, Australia. 'Down' refers to the direction away from Sydney, 'Up' refers to the direction towards Sydney. The trailing points at the eastern end of the platforms allows 'down' trains to terminate on platform 2 and return to the city. The turnback allows Bankstown to handle multiple terminating trains and provides a stabling option.
