In the Marvel Comics universe, Barbarus is a Savage Land mutate created by Magneto, the master of magnetism, along with Amphibius, Brainchild, Equilibrius, Gaza, Lupo, Piper I, Lorelei, Vertigo II, Whiteout, Worm, Lupa, and Leash. He first appeared was in Uncanny X-Men #62.

Barbarus has 4 arms possessing augmented physical strength, endurance and resistance to all forms of physical injury.

Barbarus appeared in the 1990s X-Men animated series, working with Mr. Sinister who had trapped Professor X and Magneto in the Savage Land.
