Barney Rock is an Irish gaelic footballer and played Gaelic Football for Dublin from 1979 - 1991 . He played for Ballymun Kickhams in north County Dublin. Rock is regarded as being one of the best players to play for Dublin and is considered a legend among the Dublin fans. Rock received All Stars three years in a row from 1983, when Dublin won the All-Ireland, to 1985. Rock played no. 10 for Dublin the first ever compromise rules game against Australia in 1984.
Rock was voted no. 18 in RTÉ's Top 20 GAA Moments in television history for his goal against Cork in the 1983 All-Ireland semi final.
