Barrington is an unincorporated Canadian rural community in Shelburne County, Nova Scotia.
Barrington is part of the much larger Barrington municipal district.

The actual community of Barrington which this article refers to is located on the northeast corner of Barrington Bay[1]. The name Barrington can be found in several community names, including:
- Barrington (municipal district), of which the community of Barrington belongs to, along with the following communities.
- Barrington Head
- Barrington Passage
- Barrington Head
There are also several geographic features containing the name Barrington:
- Barrington Bay
- Barrington River
- Barrington Lake

Barrington's inhabitants are mostly descendants of the first settlers from Chatham and Harwick on Cape Cod, Massachusetts who emigrated to the area during the 1760s.
