From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Basarab Laiotă cel Bătrân was a ruler of the principality of Wallachia in the 15th Century, repeating the achievement of Dan II in being elected by the boyars as Prince on five different occasions. Also similarly to Dan II, he succeeded one Prince (this time Radu cel Frumos) on four separate occasions. Two of his reigns also surrounded the last period in which Vlad III Dracula ruled over Wallachia. He ruled:
- In the year 1473.
- In the year 1474.
- Again in 1474.
- Between the years 1475 and 1476.
- Between the years 1476 and 1477.
