Talk:Basque rural sports

Excellent job, Joebengo. :) --Sugaar 06:09, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
Is it me or do these sports seem midly retarded? 24.254.92.184 08:03, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
- It is you. They are competions based in traditional jobs and I can only imagine that other peoples had the same kind of traditions but mostly have been lost. I know that many rural sports are also practiced in Australia (they are somwhat different but surprisingly simmilar in many cases) and some others like, stone lifting, in Scotland.
- You may want to consider them "redneck" (rural) but using "retarded" obviously only talks of your own intellect. --Sugaar 14:20, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Geese
Should the Lekeitio geese be mentioned here? --Error 20:25, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Valencian pilota
Maybe I'm too sensitive, but this sentence seems to state that Valencian pilota is a variant of Basque Pelota:
- (pilota)... is by no means limited to Basque lands, being also played in Castile, Rioja, the Land of Valencia (with its own Valencian tradition)
Please, rephrase it.
They are two different ball games. Maybe they share a common origin, but Frontoi was not played in the Land of Valencia until the very end of the XIX century (see Valencian frontó), and no Basque pilotari could play Escala i corda.
