Battle of Anacostia Flats

Battle of Anacostia Flats was the name given to the time when Herbert Hoover ordered federal troops to forcibly remove the World War I veteran Bonus Army who marched into Washington D.C. and demanded an early pension. This proved to be a bad political choice for Hoover, helping Franklin Roosevelt to win the presidency.
