Talk:Battle of Blackett Strait
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
One man was killed on USS Denver. Thompson, James William died from injuries sustained from the blast of Denver's main battery. Not sure if that should be included in the casulties on this or not.

- Interesting find. Some historians include accidental or "operational losses" in final casualty counts and some don't. I think it could be included because the unfortunate man wouldn't have lost his life if the battle hadn't happened, even if enemy action didn't directly end his life. If I can confirm the fact (the link didn't work when I tried it), I'll add it to the infobox and perhaps to the article text at a later date. Cla68 14:40, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
Link appears to work now. Search for James William and you will find the relevant passage. (This links to USS Denver War Diary)
