[edit] An Important Battle.
I have expanded this article not only to supply more detail but to try to emphasise its importance in the history of medieval warfare. Although politically the impact of the battle was at best temporary, in terms of strategy and tactics it forms, on a small scale, a prototype-supplemented on a larger scale the following year at Halidon Hill- for the later English victories of Crecy and Agincourt.
