BCP 47

Best Current Practice 47 (BCP 47) is an Internet standard specification maintained by the Internet Engineering Task Force for tag syntax for the identification of languages. This standard is used in programming languages such as HTML, XML, and PHP. It incorporates RFC 1766, RFC 3066, and RFC 4646.
