[edit] Who are you?
[edit] What are your intentions on Wikipedia?
To focus on those areas in which I am an expert.
[edit] Main areas of focus
Mainly affairs related to:
and some other things. I have previously edited on Wikipedia. I intend to maintain a neutral point of view even under the most difficult circumstances.
[edit] Administrative tasks
I do not enjoy administrative tasks such as participating in AfDs; I prefer to leave that task to others, unless the article is related to one of my areas of interest. I prefer editing mainspace articles. However, when I meet vandalism, I do not hesitate to report this to the appropriate administrators and to revert the vandalism immediately. I have a zero tolerance-policy regarding vandalism, POV edits and other disrupting activities.
[edit] What does your username stand for?
I like Tom Clancy's books, especially the Jack Ryan series. When I registered this account, I was reading The Bear and the Dragon. I recommend the Ryan series to everyone.
[edit] What languages do you speak?
English, Dutch, German, Hebrew, and some Yiddish.
[edit] Where do you live?
In Jerusalem, the disputed city.
[edit] What do you mean by 'disputed city'?
Jerusalem should not belong to any group. Not to the Zionists, not to the Palestinians. It should be a neutral city, governed by the United Nations. This is what the great rabbis have always pleaded for. Israel should move its capital to Tel Aviv, and Palestine should be content with having Ramallah as its capital.
[edit] Where do you originally come from?
From the Dutch side of the border between the Netherlands and Germany. To be precise, I am from the city of Zutphen (close to Arnhem, famous for Operation Market Garden).
[edit] What are your political ideas?
Regarding national-security issues, decidedly to the right of the center. Domestic issues also usually to the right, especially regarding crime-fighting: I support enlargement of the police force, 'more blue on the streets', more serious sentencing, and possibly reinstatement of the death penalty. However, regarding issues such as Social Security, the environment, and transportation, I am decidedly left-wing. This combination of views associated with right-wing and left-wing politics makes it impossible to categorize me as being a supporter of either the right or the left wing.
