[edit] Copyvio
This article incorporates extensive copyright violations from this puff piece. It needs extensive cleanup to remove the copyvio and to remove the fawning material that's been taken from the original. JamesMLane t c 02:26, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
- That link doesn't take me to an article about Lt. Gov. Skillman. If the copyvio hasn't been cleaned up in your opinion, can you give some indication of where one can find the material that's the source of the copyvio info in the article? I'm particularly interested because, as per my comments below, there's material in the wiki article that I don't feel is suited for an encyclopedia article. I'm curious as to whether the article you're referencing is the source for the parts that are bugging me as well. Thanks. Jim Campbell 22:51, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Full Partnership?
I added a "needs citation" tag for the following sentence. "Now, serving as Lieutenant Governor of Indiana, Becky Skillman is a full partner with Governor Mitch Daniels on all matters of state government." Maybe I'm dense, but I'm not sure what being a full partner with a governor entails. If this is a direct quote from someone (and I’d imagine Mitch Daniels would have to be the one to say it for the statement to carry any weight whatsoever), the quote should be cited. Placing it in the article in this context, however, seems very POV to me.
Unless Lt. Governor Skillman has veto powers and the power to make gubernatorial appointments, I don’t think she can be described as a “full partner.” If she participated heavily in the process of governing the state and is the primary advisor to Gov. Daniels, that needs to be stated more clearly (and probably cited as well). I don’t mean to disparage Lt. Governor Skillman or trivialize her role, but I don’t think any Lt. Governor of any state in the history of the U.S. could accurately be described as a “full partner” in the truest sense. I suppose this is a long winded way of saying; this statement bugs me and needs to be clarified.Jim Campbell 22:51, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
- I removed the "full partner" statement. If anyone has any objections to that, please let me know. Thanks. Jim Campbell 18:42, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
