Search user languages

I love learning languages, as you can see from the 3 languages that are not English in my Babel box. I am hoping to improve my Portuguese and Italian levels soon, but my Portuguese just isn't quite a 3 yet. In the meantime here are examples of what I can do in Portuguese:

Wait on someone at a pizza shop: Querias uma pizza ou uma bebida? Não, obrigada.
- Translation: Would you like a pizza or a beverage? No, thanks.
Ask if someone speaks Portuguese: Quem falo Português aqui? Ninguem? Ou todos?
- Translation: Who speaks Portuguese here? No one? Or everyone?

Much more to come soon...As soon as I get myself up to 3, I'll be more proficient and more confident in putting other things here. For now, this is about it for the Portuguese. I can hold a simple conversation, though.

I can survive in Italy for about 2-3 days probably. Then I better make my way to England where I speak the way they do— in English. Until this gets to a level 2, you get: NOTHING! Yay, nothing! Isn't that great...Not. That's probably because I learn the majority of my Italian from hearing it and looking the discernable words up in an English-Italian dictionary. Oh, well.

It's slipping away from me, little by little. Pretty soon, I'll be hitting 2. Not good. Here's some level three Spanish...while it lasts.

Como estas? Bueno, y tú? Muy bueno tambien. Que estas haciendo? Soy preparando el desayuno por mi familia. Sí? Sí. Que es el desayuno? Huevos. Porque huevos? A mi me gusta los huevos. O, sí.
Translation: How are you? Good, and you? Very good as well. What are you doing? I'm making breakfast for my family. Really? Yes. What is breakfast? Eggs. Why eggs? I like eggs. Oh.

Kind of a boring conversation, but what can you expect? I'm at about a 2.5 level of it!
