Image talk:Ben Stone.jpg

This is a TV screen shot apparently from "law and order". It's being used in the Benjamin Stone but it violates fair use counterexample #8. "An image of a living person that merely shows what they look like." [[1]].Wikidudeman (talk) 15:44, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
- The image could be deleted for lacking a detailed fair use rationale since the uploader failed to attach a detailed fair use rationale, nonetheless I don't feel fair use counterexample #8 applies in this case. That would apply if this image was used on Michael Moriarty to merely show what the actor looks like. However, it is fair use on Ben Stone to identify the character. —RP88 19:06, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
A free image of the actors face would do the same job. --Bob 23:20, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
- That's not an argument that it isn't free use, that is an argument that it is replaceable fair use :-). I'm not one of the editors of the article, so I'm not in a position to say one or the other in this case - that is up for the interested parties to decide. It is entirely possible that, for the purposes of identifying the character, that a generic image of the actor is not an adequate substitute for an image of the actor appearing in character. —RP88 03:22, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
