Beowulf (Los Angeles band)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Beowulf (no umlaut over the "U") was a hard rock band from Los Angeles, California active during 1970s and 1980s. It should not to be confused with the Venice Beach crossover thrash band Beowülf (with an umlaut over the "U") of the Suicidal family.
Beowulf started in late 1970s, marking a new era in rock music with a very loud metal sound, featuring vocalist John Croswell, guitar players Chuck Gauld and Kevin Byron , bass player Pat McBride and drummer Keith Delaney.
Gauld was the main composer and lyricist for the band, Byron and McBride giving a bit of help. The band released its only album, Slice of Life in 1980 on Morrhythm Records. The record featured 10 guitar oriented tracks and was re-released in 2002 on the Metal Legions division of Comet Records.
