Berat District

The District of Berat (Albanian: Rrethi i Beratit) is one of the thirty-six districts of Albania. It has a population of 128,000 (2004 estimate), and an area of 915 km². It is in the centre of the country, and its capital is Berat. Other cities in this district include Poliçan and Ura Vajgurore. This is also the birthplace of Sejfi Protopapa, a Bali Kumtar leader.
