Berezhanskyi Raion

Berezhanskyi Raion is district in the westernmost corner of Ternopil Oblast in western area of Ukraine, area traditionally known as Halychyna (Galicia). The administrative center is the city of Berezhany. Some 50 km away from Ternopil and ca 80 km away from Lviv. Berezhany district lays in the center of the historical area known as Galicia (Eastern Galicia) or Halychyna in Ukrainian. The river Zolota Lypa, Dniester tributary crosses the district from the north to the south. River forms a large lake north of Berezhany.
Population of the district is 44.447 inhabitants. Territory covers 661 square km. Theare 56 villages and 1 town (Berezhany) in the district.

- Narayiv (Narajow / Narayev) - 1.799 inhabitants (river Narayivka flows through the village)
- Baznykivka (Baznikowka / Baznikovka) - 116 inhabitants (first historical mention dates to 1731)
- Baranivka (Baranowka / Baranovka) - 250 inhabitants
- Bishche (Biszcze) - 547 inhabitants (first historical mention dates to 1086)
- Bozhykiv (Bozykow / Bozhykov) - 670 inhabitants (village was known as Kvitkove in Soviet time)
- Verbiv (Werbow / Verbov) - 865 inhabitants
- Vilkhovets (Olchowiec / Olkhovets) - 765 inhabitants
- Pidvysoke (Podwysokie / Podvysokoye) - 317 inhabitants
- Rybnyky (Rybniki / Ribniki) - 323 inhabitants
