This map is problematic in several respects:
- the Figuig-Ksour dialects are Zenati, not Atlas.
- Chenoua, Bissa, and the other Berber dialects just east of Algiers are Zenati, not Kabyle.
- Algiers, and most of its immediate surroundings, are non-Berberophone.
- The mysterious coastal spot on the Tunisian-Algerian border corresponds to nothing.
- The size of Beni-Snous is massively exaggerated, while Bel-Halima is entirely absent.
- Siwa is exaggerated, while Awjila, Sokna, and El Fogaha are all missing.
- The tongue extending out from Chaouia to the sea is almost totally made up. In reality, the few remaining Berber-speaking villages of southern Tunisia are separated from Chaouia by a good 100 km of desert and salt lakes.
It's better than nothing, but should not be relied on. - Mustafaa 12:00, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
