Beth Wallace

Beth Wallace is a fictional character on the NBC soap opera, Passions. Beth was played by Kelli McCarty from August 17, 1999 until July 18, 2005 and from May 12 to July 14, 2006.

Beth was Luis' high school sweetheart. She seemed to be normal and kind. Once Sheridan came into the picture, Beth was dumped by Luis, and it was soon realized by the audience that Beth was crazy and psychotic. She attempted to kill Sheridan many times, but failed. Around 2004, Sheridan was "with child" (Marty Lopez-Fitzgerald ). Beth then kidnapped Sheridan and held her in a basement pit for a year. During this time, Beth's mother (Edna) arrived on the show. It should be noted that Beth is the way she is because of the constant rapings by Edna's many boyfriends as a young child. When Marty was born, Beth had by then made love with Luis, and passed off Marty as her son with Luis. Eventually it was discovered that Beth was the crazy woman that the audience knew she was, but she fled with Marty to Rome. In 2006, Luis found Beth and Marty. But, they ran away on a train that exploded. It is believed they both are dead.

Beth's history has been retconned on more than one occasion. When the show began, her family (father, mother, older brother) had once owned the Book Café, but had sold it to the Cranes to pay for her mother's hospital bills. Unfortunately, her mother had later died. When her mother was introduced into the scene, Beth's back story was completely destroyed. She no longer had an older brother, and the father she had often spoken of ceased to exist. It is unknown where Beth and her mother came by the name Wallace, as Mr. Wallace was established to be a guy that had lived in the house when Beth was older, who was never married to Mrs. Wallace (Beth's mother never wed).
