Betsy Russell

Betsy Russell is an actress who made a name for herself in sexy leading roles in B films in the 1980s.
She acted in school projects in high school in San Diego, California, and successfully auditioned for a Pepsi commercial that was taped locally. After graduating from Mission Bay High School in 1981, Betsy Russell moved to Los Angeles to audition for acting parts. She took acting classes and waitress jobs before she landed the part of Kittie in the film “Let's Do It!” (1982).

Her big acting break came when she won the part of Jordan Leigh-Jensen, Phoebe Cates' rival in the film Private School (1983). She went onto star in a series of B-films in the 1980s including “Tomboy” (1985), “Out of Control” (1985), Avenging Angel (1985) and Cheerleader Camp (1987). Her television guest appearances include Family Ties (1982), The A-Team (1983), Murder, She Wrote (1984) and Superboy in 1989 where she was reunited with her “Tomboy” co-star, Gerard Christopher, who was playing the lead character of Superboy.
Betsy recently found renewed success in the popular “Saw” film series performing as Jill in “Saw III.”

She married actor Vincent Van Patten, son of actor Dick Van Patten, in 1989 and briefly stopped acting to devote time to her family. Betsy and Vincent had two sons and later divorced. She is now engaged to producer/manager Mark Burg.
